WASHINGTON HIGH COMMUNITY CENTER

PORTLAND, OR

In 2011, Portland Parks & Recreation tapped sustainable design firm SERA to develop a vision for the first new urban community recreation center ever built by the City of Portland. Located adjacent to the newly repurposed Washington High School (now Revolution Hall), the master plan included an indoor aquatic center, gymnasium and fitness rooms, meeting rooms and a community gathering facility. For the latter, SERA covered an entire wall (and doors!) with TorZo Blue Stain Pine for an eye catching (and eco friendly) feature.
